SCB Kids is a children’s ministry uniquely designed with your child in mind! Every Sunday all children (babies through 5th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way.

We would love to see you and your family visit SCB Kids at Santa Cruz Bible this Sunday. Join the fun and experience a world where kids meet Jesus on their level!

First Time Here?

When your family enters into our Kids building, one of our greeters will meet your family. Then, we will check your child into our database system, and one of our volunteers will lead your child to their classroom.

We will ask for the following personal information: family members’ names, children’s names and birthdates, address, phone number, and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your child.

How Does Check-In Work?

childrensmin-3Our Check- In stations will open 20 minutes prior to each service. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and an additional tag for the classroom roster. Your child will need to wear the nametag portion while you keep the matching tag. After the service, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag. Then your child will be released back to you.

In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s security identification code will appear on the screen in the auditorium. We ask that you return to your child’s classroom to see what is needed.

Special Environments

We have a Baby Care room for parents and infants located in the Worship Center. It is a comfortable space to feed little ones who aren’t ready for the Nursery, and includes a private area for nursing moms.

What We Value

Jesus

It’s all about Jesus, and we want every child to know Him and love Him. Our hope is that the seeds of the Gospel will be planted in every child who is a part of SCB Kids and will sprout and grow into a deep faith in Jesus!

Equipping and Supporting Parents

We believe that parents are the primary disciplers of their children – you are the ones who have the greatest influence over your children and can teach them the most about the love of God. This is a big responsibility and can be challenging and intimidating. We want to equip and support you to plant and water seeds of faith in your children. The Parent CUE app is one way we do this – it supports the weekly lesson and gives talking points and suggestions for how to apply what your children learn on Sundays. Relationships

We value children’s relationships within the small group setting as they relate to their leader and other kids in the group. As families commit to attending the same service each week, children are placed in a group of familiar faces where relationships can grow.

Age-Appropriateness

Our environments and lesson materials are created in a way your child will understand. We want them to be able to learn and retain the lessons we share with them every week.

Safety

Every child’s nametag is matched to a parent-identification number, every volunteer is screened with an interview and federal background check, and there is always someone at the front door (the only way to enter the building) monitoring people entering the building.

Creative Bible Teaching

The Bible is the most amazing book ever written! We strive to bring its stories to life through activities and discussions that keep children engaged. We want all children to love God’s word and understand the value of applying it to their lives.

Fun!

Kids love fun! We realize that when children have fun at church, they can’t wait to come back. We value creating fun ways for children to learn about Jesus, including games, activities, singing, and live acting!

When You Leave SCB Kids

On your way home, be sure to ask your child questions like, “Did you have fun?” and “What did you learn about God today?” and “Do you want to find today’s story in our Bible?”

Still have questions?

You can email the staff at SCB Kids directly and we will be happy to answer any of your questions!
