Summer Sports Camps
Summer is coming and we have some great opportunities for your kids! We are having five, three day summer camps for 1st - 5th grades. We will be hosting skill building camps for (camps left are) art, basketball, and flag football. Each camp will be Monday - Wednesday, 8:30am 12:30pm. Daily Devotional Plan: July - Dec is NOW AVAILABLE
The Daily Devotional Plan is an intentional tool to help you get into God’s Word and for God’s Word to get into you. It will not only help you enjoy reading God’s Word, but it will also help you learn to live God’s Word. So, join us as we commit as a church body to continue to read it, write it, pray it and live it ~ TOGETHER! Pick up your copy in the bookstore!
Church Directory - we have just added 2 new dates
We want EVERYONE to be part of the SCBC Pictorial Directory. And we have added two new dates in August to make it easier. The directory will help us connect names with faces. Mexico Family Mission Trip
Join us Sept. 9-13, 2010 as we partner with our missionaries the Palau’s to bring the Good News of Jesus to the children, the poor and needy in Mexico. It’s a great way to “get your feet wet” in missions and lots of fun too! The next mandatory meeting is Thursday, August 12, 7PM in AC20. Men’s Fishing Retreat
Join the guys for the 12th annual Men’s Fishing Retreat on July 23, 24 & 25. They have secured two adjoining group campgrounds at the beautiful Jackson Meadow Reservoir. Men 14 years and older are qualified to attend. They will have archery, horseshoes, swimming, boating, hiking and excellent lake fishing. Sign-ups begin May 30. Perspectives - Mission’s Education
Perspectives provides a single, comprehensive source of information on the unfinished task of world evangelism. This information cannot be found in a newspaper, library, Bible study or even on most Christian college campuses. Each week a different instructor will enrich, enlighten and inspire you as he or she presents the lesson. Join us for a 15 week course from Aug 15 - Nov 28. Registration for our Ladies’ Summer Book club contines today. Stop by the table in the Lobby to register and to look over our first read, “Gods & Kings” by Lynn Austin. You can also register online. Our first discussion group meeting will be in the evening on Monday, July 12 at 7pm. This is a great opportunity to read a great book and meet some new friends...so we’ll see you in The Club!
adopt-a-chaplain
Adopt-a-Chaplain is a Christ-centered ministry that is dedicated to supporting our troops through the ministries of chaplains. Help SCBC to send a message that we care by sending care packages to chaplains serving in the Middle East and they distribute the items to our troops Our supplies are getting low and we need your help to love the men and women who are serving our country. Want to Make A Difference in YOUR Community
Beach Flats Community Center needs tutoring volunteer for their IMAGINE program. IMAGINE is a collaboration between The Beach Flats Community Center, Mercy Housing, and the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County. The IMAGINE program offers an after-school enrichment and homework support program for K-12 students who are growing up in the Beach Flats and Lower Ocean Neighborhoods. pantry needs
This year more than ever families who were getting by before are not. There has been a huge need to help families in our community and out body with a simple box of food or meal. To help those who are in need we need you. You can help by purchasing much needed item for our food pantry. Our top most needed items are: canned fruit & Veggies, canned meats and fish, pasta and sauce, rice and beans, canned soup, low sugar cereals and oatmeal, boxed snacks. Other items needed are: Lg juice, refried beans, saltines, canned pastas, rice or pasta-roni, salt/pepper,, coffee/tea/filters, ketchup/mayo/mustard, bath soap bars, dish soap, detergent, oil, cookies, pudding or jello. Women's Prayer Group
The SCBC Women’s Prayer Warriors Ministry Team meets the last Mon of each month from 10:30am to 12:00pm in WC-10. We come together to fellowship, pray for our church, the staff and personal prayer request. Join us and be part of this exciting ministry and see all that Our God can do through prayer.
