Volunteers on our Worship team use their gifts and abilities to minister to the church body through the expression of worship to the Lord through music and the arts. They lead worship at weekend services through singing or playing an instrument in the worship band, painting, and other art forms.
Volunteers in our Children's ministry (birth – 5th) get the opportunity to shepherd and care for our littlest ones during weekend worship services through singing, dancing and teaching the truth of God’s Word. They check in kids, lead classrooms, provide assistance to classroom teachers, assist with production and care for babies and toddlers.
Volunteers on our Hospitality team are some of the first people our attendees come in contact with at weekend services. They serve our church every week or every other week. They greet people before services, help people find seats, and work in our Welcome center.
Volunteers for Celebrate Recovery minister by setting up sound for our Friday meetings, operating computer video for worship and teaching, and operating program lighting. They also plan, cook and serve an inexpensive meal on Fridays before the evening program.
Volunteers on the Production team keep things running smoothly during our weekend services and at events so that our attendees have a great experience meeting with the Lord and the Church. They run the lighting, sound, slides, cameras and more during both of our weekend services.
Volunteers on our Facilities team serve behind the scenes. They take care of the church building and grounds and keep things looking and working great. They clean the church building, maintain the church grounds, prep for services and events, and help with landscaping, painting and taking out the trash.
Veritas is always in need of adults who want to mentor the young adults and college students. We need volunteers who are willing to meet with students and lead a small group, as well as people who can help with setup and running tech.
Volunteers in Student Ministry have a special opportunity to make a difference in middle school and high school students' lives. Our primary volunteer role revolves around discipleship. These volunteers lead a small group of middle school or high school students, investing in their lives, pointing them towards Christ & Biblical truth, and living out the gospel. Other volunteer needs include worship, tech, admin, and bringing food to events.
Volunteers in our church office do a variety of clerical jobs by coming alongside the staff during the week. They may serve by making photocopies, phone calls, doing data entry or other work on a computer, laminating, organizing or doing small craft projects.
Volunteers on our Benevolence team are responsible for coordinating the material, meals, spiritual and financial care for individuals and families within our community. This ministry strives to show the love of Christ to others in need.
There is a large variety of events that happen on a regular basis in the life of SCBC. Volunteer opportunities are always available to help at meals, outreaches, weddings and funerals. If you like to cook, decorate, clean, or organize, the event team could be for you.
